My name is Jakub Montewka, I am a researcher employed at present in Aalto University, School of Science and Technology in Espoo, Finland. However my background is sea-related, I graduated from Maritime University of Szczecin, Poland, there I have also obtained my Ph.D. In the meantime I also gained experience on board merchant vessels, beginning as a deck-cadet, being promoted to nautical officer and then chief-mate.
My present research field is closely related to my nautical background, and concerns maritime traffic safety assessment and risk analysis of maritime traffic.
This web page was created in order to share my achievements, ideas, and photos with the others whose interests are similar to mine.
